Never drive when you're tired – this is particularly important when taking lessons. Choose a time of day when you will be refreshed and get the maximum benefit from your lesson. Listen carefully to your instructor! Always ask your instructor to explain things further if you are unclear on any aspect of driving. Some pupils prefer two-hour lessons and benefit more from the reduced “settling in” period. However, others find it hard to concentrate for a longer lesson and are better suited to one-hour sessions – discuss and decide with your instructor, which is best for you. Learning curves can be bumpy!! When you feel a lesson is going badly, the learning content is often very high. The proof of this follows in the next lesson. Practise makes automatic,
not perfect! All drivers make mistakes, but a “safety first always” attitude
will make you a safer driver.
